Stability Control Safety System

The more modern your safety system, the more chance you have of escaping a dangerous situation. Over the past 40 years, safety features like anti-lock braking systems, traction control, and more recently, stability control, are allowing Nissan dealerships to offer vehicles that provide more safety for drivers.

Anti-Lock Brakes
A common safety feature on many Nissan cars today is the anti-lock braking system (also called ABS). The ABS is a four-wheel system that prevents wheel lock-up by controlling brake pressure during an emergency stop. ABS prevents the wheels from locking and allows the driver to maintain steering control and to stop in the shortest possible time under the most brutal conditions.

Traction Control
Traction control has become increasingly popular on new vehicles as another method to prevent auto accidents. Traction control uses sensors and a microcomputer to ensure that tires are not spinning more quickly than need be. This allows the tires of your car to remain in constant contact with the road - thereby providing improved steering and maneuverability in dangerous circumstances.

Stability Control
Similarly to traction control, stability control uses sensors and a microcomputer to improve handling of the car during extreme situations. Stability control work to reduce yaw to and maintain control of the vehicle. Yaw is the degree to which your car is leaning or tilting to one side or another. Yaw is affected by a combination of how fast you’re going, how fast you’re turning, steering wheel position and accelerator position. Stability works to limit yaw which can make you lose control of your vehicle or even flip the car.

Stability control systems in conjunction with ABS systems and traction control offer the best safety that technology has to offer. These new safety features keep you in control of your vehicle in situations where you may have lost control in the past. Nissan dealership which Nissan vehicles offer these new safety features.
